Tourism & Hospitality
THE THESIS
Africa is the fastest-growing tourism region on Earth and still receives only about one in twenty of the world's international tourists. Its safaris, beaches, ruins and cities are the continent's most visible export — and too much of the money leaves with the tour operator, the hotel chain and the airline. The AU wrote a protocol on free movement that most states have not ratified, while 51% of intra-African journeys still need a visa. The AR makes the continent one destination: one visa, one brand, one sky — with community-owned conservancies, African ownership rising steadily, and the world's tourist spending staying where it was spent.
