The Reparations Demand

From the Berlin Conference of 1884 — where European powers carved up an entire continent without a single African at the table — to the neocolonial extraction continuing today through the CFA Franc, debt traps, corporate mineral theft, and Rwandan militia plundering the DRC, the pillaging of Africa has never stopped. It changed form. It changed faces. It changed language. But it never stopped.

The AR formally asserts, on behalf of all African people globally, a comprehensive legal and moral demand for reparations — specific, quantified, backed by historical record, economic scholarship, and international law — against every nation and corporation that has profited from the theft of Africa's resources, the enslavement of its people, and the deliberate destruction of its development. This is not charity. It is not aid. It is a bill — long overdue, with compounded interest.

LEGAL BASIS

Grounded in: (1) International law on crimes against humanity; (2) UN Basic Principles on the Right to a Remedy and Reparation; (3) The AU's 2025 theme 'Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations'; (4) The precedent of Germany's $87.5 billion in Holocaust reparations; (5) The UN General Assembly reparations resolution process initiated by Ghana and the AU (2025–2026); (6) A 2024 Belgian high court ruling that colonial crimes against humanity give rise to present-day compensation claims.

THE BILL

The AR is not asking for charity. It is presenting a bill. A bill backed by four centuries of documented theft, genocide, forced labour, cultural destruction, and deliberate underdevelopment. A bill backed by international law, precedent-setting court decisions, and the unanimous voice of 1.4 billion Africans speaking — for the first time in history — with one voice, through one government, with one demand: Pay what you owe.

The Funding Doesn't Make It Real.

It makes it faster.

And stronger to combat harmful malevolent cybersecurity threats.
